Manchester United are targeting Bryan Mbeumo but may need to have alternatives in mind for this summer’s transfer window.
Ruben Amorim wants to see more goals next season and has already started to switch up Manchester United’s attack.
Matheus Cunha has joined United, while Alejandro Garnacho has been told to leave Old Trafford, with more changes to come.
United have made a bid for Bryan Mbeumo, but Brentford rejected the opening offer as they stand firm on their asking price.
United may need to think about alternative targets, even though Mbeumo wants a move to Old Trafford this summer.
Reports in May suggested United have eyed up Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has just one year left on his Nottingham Forest contract.

Nottingham Forest stance on Manchester United target Callum Hudson-Odoi
Hudson-Odoi has impressed for Forest since completing a move from Chelsea in 2023.
The 24-year-old winger hit five goals and three assists in the Premier League last season, helping Forest qualify for the UEFA Conference League.

Hudson-Odoi is now entering the final 12 months of his contract, though, and Forest could lose the wide man.
The Sun reiterate that United are interested in Hudson-Odoi, with Amorim and co ‘monitoring developments closely’.
However, Forest believe Hudson-Odoi wants to stay put and a ‘big-money’ extension is now in the pipeline.
It’s even suggested that United asked about signing Hudson-Odoi in January, but Forest shut that proposal down immediately.
United’s interest seemingly remains, though Mbeumo appears to be the top priority in terms of attacking signings right now.
Callum Hudson-Odoi an intriguing target for Manchester United
That January interest suggests Hudson-Odoi is a serious target for United and not just speculation used as leverage for a new deal.
On the one hand, Hudson-Odoi offers pace and dribbling ability to make United a threat in transition.
The former Chelsea man would also be a homegrown player for the future, which could be useful for future European campaigns if United can qualify.
Hudson-Odoi is primarily a winger, though, and Amorim wants to play with two number 10s in a 3-4-2-1 system.
That is part of why Garnacho just isn’t a fit under Amorim, so targeting another winger in Hudson-Odoi is something of a surprise.
Hudson-Odoi has occasionally played as an attacking midfielder in his career, and Amorim may believe that he can really grow in that role at Old Trafford.
Forest don’t appear to be concerned just yet, but Hudson-Odoi could come into sharper focus if a deal for Mbeumo cannot be agreed upon.
