Arsenal now want 23y/o with ‘extraordinary physique’ & ‘magnificent physical condition’ to…

Arsenal want to sign Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume as they look to replace Thomas Partey this summer, according to Spanish journalist Maximo Ramirez.

The Ghana international could leave the Gunners as a free agent in the coming weeks as both parties have been unable to reach an agreement, and they are preparing for life without him.

Arsenal were linked with Agoume in January and could sign him for less than £20 million this summer.

Former Sevilla manager Enrique Sánchez Flores praised the 23-year-old France youth international for his ‘extraordinary physique’ and ‘magnificent physical condition’ when he joined the club in 2024, and the North London club appear keen on recruiting his services.

The Cameroon-born star played 35 La Liga games last term, weighing in with three assists and a goal and his strengths include tackling, intercepting the ball and winning aerial duels.

The 6ft 2in Agoume has been compared to Partey due to their similar style of play and physical build, and Arsenal could make a serious move for him if the 32-year-old leaves this summer.

They will be facing competition from other suitors for him but the availability of Champions League football and the chance to challenge for major silverware regularly at the North London club could appeal to him.
