Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!
I hope your morning is starting as well as mine has. It's supposed to be a rainy day in Cleveland, with thunderstorms possible throughout the day. Still, this morning so far is sunny and pleasant, and I've packed up the computer and headed outside to the deck with my puppy to write today's Massive Morning Missive, while birds chirp at me. Life could be worse.
TIME TO GET REAL: Perhaps this Wednesday morning is not so upbeat for Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne, who is now facing pushback from some members of City Council for not coming to grips with the reality that the Browns are headed to Brook Park. Look, we've been calling this a fait accompli for some time now, and we do that because we like fancy French phrases, but anyone with the slightest amount of cognitive skills knows that Jimmyworld is inevitable.
I think the point of inevitability was when the people's elected representatives in Columbus began focusing more on the "how" of ponying up $600 million for the effort rather than the question of "if". Unclaimed funds, gambling taxes, and so forth are all about making taxpayers feel good that the $600 million isn't coming out of their pockets, so that the expenditure seems painless. I don't want to get into the politics of it, just that this was visible from 2,000 miles away, and I'm only 20 miles away, so it wasn't exactly a gigantic intuitive leap.
So, the message to Ronayne appears to be, "start coping and planning for the Browns to leave". We're moving through the seven stages here, folks.

A PROMOTION AND AN EXIT: The second section of today's newswire involves two people I don't know and have admittedly barely heard of before today. You're probably in the same boat, but we're a news organization here, and we report the news, darn it. First off, Dan Saganey was the former Cleveland Browns director of player personnel, and he left to join Tennessee to accept a larger role. So, now the Browns have promoted Adam Al-Khayyal to the director of player personnel. Beyond that, we have little information other than Mike Garafolo really likes the guy and calls him a prospective GM someday.
The exit is WR Ja'Seem Reed, who was signed as an undrafted free agent out of the University of San Diego, where he caught 77 passes. He had been waived last month and wound up on the IR list.
THE DAILY QUARTERBACK: Yes, it's mostly Shedeur, but The Daily Shedeur was a turn-off for my reader(s) , so we're broadening our scope here. Broadened scopes are always good.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE
Have a good one! GO BROWNS!
