Liverpool have already been one of the busiest teams in the Premier League regarding transfers in and out of the club.
Jeremie Frimpong was the first to arrive at Anfield, with Milos Kerkez’s move from Bournemouth also nearing completion.
Indeed, the Reds have also struck a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of Florian Wirtz, with his announcement set to take place on Friday.

Alongside these arrivals, Liverpool have been mooted with an interest in some other players to improve their ranks, with the Anfield outfit receiving something of a boost regarding a potential target.
Chelsea would prefer to sign Jamie Gittens over Malick Fofana this summer
Since Todd Boehly took over Chelsea, the American businessman has spent an obscene amount of money trying to get his team back to the top of the Premier League table.
Some transfers, such as Cole Palmer’s, have worked in the Blues’ favour, but others, such as Nicolas Jackson, have been disappointing on more than one occasion.
And now, as per a fresh report from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, it seems like Malick Fofana isn’t at the top of their shortlist, despite an enquiry being made.
“Yes, Chelsea have enquired about Malick Fofana. He is one of the names on their shortlist,” he wrote via his personal X account.

Liverpool should look into a deal for Malick Fofana
Both Chelsea and Liverpool’s interest in Fofana has been well documented over the last couple of weeks.
A lot of the transfer rumours that have emerged have been regarding attacking reinforcement for most of the Premier League’s teams.
Indeed, Fofana is still only 20 years old, so he has plenty of room to grow, but with the form he’s shown for Lyon this season, it feels like he has a bright future ahead of him.

The 2024-25 season of Malick Fofana in numbers.
The young Frenchman is more of a winger rather than a number nine, which is what Liverpool really need, but if Federico Chiesa, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz all choose to leave Anfield, then reinforcement will certainly be needed.
At the end of the day, no matter who Liverpool sign this summer, it’ll be hard to live up to the standards set by players such as Mohamed Salah, but as long as they have plenty of potential, they will be given the chance to prove their worth.
And luckily for Fofana, he has that in bundles with Lyon’s manager Pierre Sage, even saying that he had a “bright future” ahead of him.
