Daniel Farke may desperately need Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas at Leeds United this transfer window.

Real Betis are eyeing Junior Firpo as a free agent, with the Dominican Republic international’s current contract at the Whites expiring soon.

Sam Byram’s future at Elland Road is also uncertain, and it remains to be seen whether the West Yorkshire outfit will offer him a new deal.

Tsimikas is attracting interest away from Liverpool, but 49ers Enterprises may have to go all out to convince the defender to sign for the Peacocks.

It feels like the 49ers will have to make a significant effort to hand Farke the left-back’s services ahead of next season, and they may have no choice if Firpo and Byram leave.

Speaking to Sport24, Tsimikas said: “It’s definitely a temptation to play more. But for me, the 27–29 games I play every year in all competitions are more than playing 40 in another team and in another league, here I am on the Broadway of football.”

Leeds must push for Tsimikas transfer if Firpo and Byram leave

Tsimikas would be a great option for Leeds to have in their starting lineup after winning promotion to the Premier League.

While the defender hasn’t really been the first-choice at the Reds over the years, he’s played an essential role as Andy Robertson’s backup during a successful spell at Anfield.

The Whites could arguably do with English top-flight experience in their squad ahead of next season as they look to avoid immediate relegation.

Firpo was influential for Leeds as they won the Championship title, and his loss will undoubtedly be a significant blow to the team.

Even if the West Yorkshire outfit manage to keep Byram, he arguably isn’t good enough to be a regular starter for them.

Farke should push to add a quality left-back at Elland Road this summer if the ex-Barcelona defender leaves, and Tsimikas seems like a decent option if the 49ers can secure him for the right price.

It doesn’t appear that the Greek national is comfortable with his situation at Liverpool, necessitating that the Whites make a more concerted effort if they want to sign him.
