Liverpool confirms another transfer exit as goalkeeper signs new contract

Liverpool has confirmed another transfer exit with young goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros heading to Ajax on loan for the 2025/26 season. The Czech shot-stopper has also penned a new contract with the Reds.

John Heitinga, a member of Arne Slot's coaching team in his first season at the helm, is now the Ajax manager. And he has moved quickly to snap up a player that he already knows well.

Jaros made a Premier League appearance for Liverpool last season. In October, he came on against Crystal Palace when Alisson Becker got injured.Caoimhin Kelleher, who has since moved to Brentford but was the second choice at the time, was unavailable.

This summer, there has been a few changes in the Liverpool goalkeeping department. Alisson recently confirmed that he has a contract until 2027 and that he intends to stay until at least then.

Giorgi Mamardashvili will arrive from Valencia in a deal that was agreed last summer, while Hungary talent Armin Pecsi has arrived and is expected to play the Jaros role, while being a regular for the U21s to continue his development.

"Personally, I have never been able to plan for the long term," Alisson said, per O Globo. "Obviously, I have one year left on my contract and another year of option from the club.

"They will probably exercise that option. I think about what I have in hand, about doing a great job, it is a decisive moment in my career, with a World Cup approaching.

"I want to be very focused. I don’t want any planning to get in the way of this great goal."

Mamardashvili, meanwhile, has made clear that he wants to be the number one at Anfield and will be making the case whenever he gets the chance. The Georgian appears in line to one day take over from Alisson.

But Pecsi is very highly rated as well. He arrives for a fee of around $2.0 million (£1.5 million).

"They see a long-term project that they outlined for me," Pecsi told the Hungarian national team's YouTube channel. "It’s hard to say this is one sentence because so many matches are analyzed in so many different ways.

"They have data on almost everything that was outlined during the meeting. It was quite astonishing how much attention they paid to every detail.

"Of course, it gives me great motivation that such a club, such data analysts, decided on my name, that they want to build me. So, that’s definitely my goal, and I want to show them that they chose the right person for the job.

"I met with a few members of the medical staff who conducted the various tests, and a separate group were responsible for my recruitment.

"I talked to them about the project, about what the goals might be in terms of development or even moving forward later. This was the first meeting, and everything will depend on the speed of my development."
