NFL analyst boldly predicts Deebo Samuel will be better in Commanders offense than 49ers scheme …

Could Deebo Samuel actually be better with the Washington Commanders than the San Francisco 49ers? One notable NFL analyst believes he will be.

In March, the rumors became a reality, and the 49ers traded homegrown star Deebo Samuel to the Commanders. Despite being only 29, there are some around the game that feel Washington won’t be getting a prime version of Samuel. That the six-year veteran is injury-prone and in decline after a disappointing season in 2024.

Well, NFL Network analyst Marc Ross actually sees the trade as a huge win for the Commanders. Because in his opinion, Samuel is “entering the best situation of his career” with second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels and offensive coordinator Kyle Kingsbury.

Deebo Samuel stats (2024): 51 catches, 670 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns, 13.1 yards per catch

“Despite his declining production over the last couple of seasons in San Francisco, Samuel has been one of the most productive wide receivers since 2021, ranking ninth in scrimmage yards, tied for fifth in scrimmage TDs (35) and first in rush yards (958) and rush TDs (17) among wideouts. Yet, for as good as he was with the 49ers, an argument could be made that the seventh-year veteran is entering the best situation of his career after being traded to Washington this offseason.

“The change of scenery puts Samuel in an offense that is led by an MVP-caliber quarterback in Jayden Daniels. Also, he’ll pair with a true No. 1 receiver in Terry McLaurin to form a dangerous tandem in Kliff Kingsbury’s passing attack.”

Deebo Samuel contract: One year, $17.5 million

There are sure to be many in and around the 49ers organization that would beg to differ. Daniels certainly took the league by storm in his rookie season. But Brock Purdy has posted an impressive resume of his own in three seasons. Including Pro Bowl honors and a trip to the Super Bowl two seasons ago. Furthermore, head coach Kyle Shanahan is seen as one of the top offensive minds in the game. And put Samuel in a position to become a star in the game.

Commanders fans will surely be hoping Ross’ prediction is accurate and he is the missing piece to get the team back to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1992. Back when they were the Washington Redskins.
