Nottingham Forest handed fixture warning as downside of Euro bonanza made clear

Nottingham Forest and other Premier League clubs have been warned about possible late changes to fixtures next season.

The full top flight fixture schedule was unveiled on Wednesday (June 18), and Nuno Espirito Santo's men open their 2025/2026 campaign against Brentford at the City Ground on Saturday, August 16.

Forest's remaining first five games are also very London dominated - a trip to the capital to play Crystal Palace, hosting West Ham United, then a road trip double to first runners-up Arsenal and then newly-promoted Burnley.

However, with nine top-flight clubs engaged in European competition next season, the Premier League has warned of the impact on domestic fixtures this will have - including late changes to when games are played.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Spurs will all play in the Champions League, Villa are joined by Crystal Palace in the Europa League, while Forest are in the Conference League.

"While the Premier League celebrates this success, it will come with an impact on the scheduling of league matches," a statement from the Premier League reads.

"There is an increased likelihood of Premier League fixtures moving at relatively short notice, after our fixture announcements, should our clubs progress to the knockout rounds of these competitions."

On the club website, a Nottingham Forest spokesperson added: "Please note that all fixtures are still subject to change. Any fixture changes will be announced on the club’s website and across the club’s social media channels as soon as they are confirmed."
