Declan Rice free-kick wins Arsenal Goal of the Season award

Declan Rice has been named as the winner of Arsenal’s 2024/25 Goal of the Season after supporters voted for his second free-kick against Real Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final at the Emirates Stadium.

The midfielder’s long-range strike received 7,029 votes, finishing ahead of Stina Blackstenius, whose winning goal in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final came second in the poll.

Rice had already opened the scoring in the 58th minute with a direct free-kick. His second, 12 minutes later, was a defining moment. From a near-identical position, he bent the ball into the top right-hand corner, past a static Andriy Lunin, sending the Emirates crowd into uproar.

Blackstenius, who struck the decisive goal in the Champions League final against Barcelona, was narrowly edged into second.
