Serie A Side "Must Make A Quickfire Sale" Handing Arsenal A Boost In Pursuit Of Newcastle And PSG Target

Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Roma centre-back Evan N’Dicka who has also attracted the attention of Newcastle and PSG.

The Gunners want to add more depth at the centre-back position behind starters Gabriel and William Saliba. They have recently been linked to signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, who is expected to cost around £70m.

However, if they want someone who can add more depth at the back, Guehi wouldn’t be the best option due to the fact that he will be wanting more regular first team football.

Instead, Arsenal have been linked to signing Roma defender Evan N’Dicka, who would be more of a suitable depth option for Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Arsenal get N’Dicka transfer boost

Evan N’Dicka is a 25-year-old centre-back, who plays for the Ivory Coast national team. Last season, he made 51 appearances for Roma, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Arsenal reportedly view him as a depth option to help fill the void of Gabriel or Saliba when one of the Arsenal pairing suffer an injury.

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Roma’s hierarchy have been forced to make a quickfire sale of N’Dicka, due to their precarious financial position. The decision could put Arsenal right into the forefront of a move for the Ivorian, seeing as they want to sign him.

The report also says that Premier League rivals Newcastle United, and Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain also want to sign the 25-year-old.

His estimated value sits at around £25.6 million, which would be a bargain for a player who could be vital to Arsenal’s title chances. Seeing as last season, Gabriel spent a lot of year injured, bringing in someone like N’Dicka could be one of the key Arsenal signings, even though it isn’t deemed as important as a striker for example.
