Rockets Name 2 Players ‘Off Limits’ In Trade Discussions With Suns

The Houston Rockets want Kevin Durant, but they aren’t willing to give away everything they have to get him.

Trade proposals are continuing to flood into the Phoenix Suns’ head office, and now we know who the Rockets will and will not send in exchange for Durant.

According to Evan Sidery, Houston has currently kept Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason “off limits” in the ongoing Durant trade discussions.

However, the Rockets are willing to include Jalen Green, but “Phoenix has little interest in the former No. 2 overall pick due to his fit with Devin Booker.”

Will the Suns continue to negotiate with Houston and get everything they want, or are they insistent on the idea of Smith and Eason?

In 2024-25, Smith averaged 12.2 points and 7.0 rebounds on 43.8 percent from the field.

As for Eason, he put up 12.0 points and 6.4 rebounds on 48.7 percent from the floor.

This deal makes it clear that the Rockets would love to add Durant to their lineup, but they also don’t want to cut ties with some of the players they consider future superstars.

They know that one of their biggest assets is their youth and potential, and they are looking to convert that into a lot of success over the next few years.

The Suns aren’t going to move forward with any deal unless it’s one that sets them up well in the present and for the future.

This proposal may come across as a little light for Phoenix, so they might try their luck with other teams.

They consider Durant a blockbuster star, and they want a blockbuster trade for him.
