There's still plenty of time for the New York Giants to figure out who they want at training camp later this summer. This week, the Giants returned to the practice field to fire up their mandatory minicamp sessions.
On Tuesday, several players in attendance were there for a workout. They are looking to crack the 90-man roster heading into training camp with a strong showing while the pads are off.
According to Big Blue View, the Giants hosted four free agents. Two were safeties, one was an outside linebacker, and the other was an offensive lineman.
Carter O'Donnell hails from Canada and nearly had a run in the CFL at first. Although O'Donnell went undrafted in 2020, he was signed as a free agent by the Indianapolis Colts. O'Donnell's run with the Colts was limited to the practice squad during his few seasons there.
In 2023, O'Donnell was picked up by the Arizona Cardinals. He managed to make his NFL debut with the team and ended up appearing in five games for the Cardinals. An injury eventually led the Cardinals to waive O'Donnell last summer.
Kenny Dyson joined the Giants for a workout after he spent time with the Carolina Panthers. Last year, the linebacker went undrafted out of Bryant. He entered the NFL with multiple college accolades, including First-Team All-Big South in 2022.
While in Carolina, Dyson appeared in just two games. He accounted for 10 snaps on defense and mostly appeared on special teams. He registered two tackles and a hit on the quarterback during his limited time on the field as a rookie.
The ex-TCU safety Millard Bradford spent some time with the New Orleans Saints last season. The 25-year-old appeared in three games, getting limited action on special teams. He came up with three tackles.
Lastly, the Giants hosted former Clemson star, K'Von Wallace. The 27-year-old has the most NFL experience of the bunch, leaving him to be a name to keep an eye on as training camp approaches.
Wallace landed in the NFL as a fourth-round pick in 2020. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles. There was a lot of fanfare around the pick at the time, as the Eagles were making a transition at the position. Right away, Wallace had a role in Philadelphia.
During his rookie season, Wallace appeared in 19 percent of the team's defensive snaps and 53 percent of their snaps on special teams in 15 games. He came up with 21 tackles.
Wallace's stint in Philadelphia would last three seasons. He played in 45 games and collected seven starts. When he left the Eagles, he had produced 64 tackles,
Since leaving the Eagles, Wallace has suited up for multiple teams. In 2023, he played for the Arizona Cardinals and the Tennessee Titans. In Arizona, Wallace came up with 43 tackles in seven games. With the Titans, he produced 46 tackles in 10 games.
Last season, Wallace had nine appearances on the field for the Seattle Seahawks. For the most part, he was limited to special teams, although he did have over 120 snaps on defense in the games he played. Wallace wrapped up his Seattle stint with 15 tackles.
