Celtic stance on Leeds United target revealed – decision set to be made

Leeds United are looking to bolster their squad ahead of next season. This summer transfer window will be crucial for the Whites.

Daniel Farke will only have a few weeks to get his targets in order before the club start their pre season in July. Getting your team together before pre-season is key to helping new signings gel and play together.

But there will be focus on filling some holes in the team. Leeds have already done a great job of adding one striker. Lukas Nmecha was announced on Sunday. And there are still reports that another center forward could be signed to add some depth.

Midfield is also an area the club are keen on adding another body to. Sky Sports revealed earlier this week that Leeds are in talks with Strasbourg over a deal for Habib Diarra. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but a deal looks very possible especially after the Strasbourg president revealed that the Ligue 1 side are open to selling the Senegalese international.

The Whites are also nearing a deal to sign Udinese defender Jaka Bijol. And now it looks like another defender could be on the way. Leeds have been linked with Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.

But now the Daily Record are reporting that the Celtic board and Brendan Rodgers are unaware of any moves for the defender, and that no approach has been made.

Leeds need defensive reinforcements

With the club expected to lose Junior Firpo, and a sale around the corner for Max Wober, defensive additions will be needed. Ethan Ampadu had to fill in at center back for large parts of the season. If Leeds are able to add a few more bodies at the back, they would have enough depth for the whole campaign.
