Fabrizio Romano delivers transfer blow as Man Utd struggle to sell £250k-a-week flop

Manchester United have to offload their underwhelming players to decrease their bloated wage bill.

Jadon Sancho headlines that list, with his disappointing form and off-field drama leaving him with no future at Old Trafford.

Napoli were reportedly exploring ways to sign Sancho this summer.

However, the Italian outfit are now edging closer to signing Bologna forward Dan Ndoye.

Reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on social media platform X that Napoli have “almost agreed” personal terms with Ndoye and are “progressing in talks”.

Man United need to find a solution

Sancho has been a major source of frustration for United since his £73 million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

He currently earns an eye-watering salary of £250,000 per week.

Tensions with fans hit rock bottom when he made a cryptic “freedom” dig, widely seen as a swipe at the club.

He spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Chelsea but failed to revive his career.

The London outfit wanted him to take a pay cut before signing him permanently but Sancho refused, leading to his return to United.

It is highly unlikely that manager Ruben Amorim will hand the Englishman another chance.

United are ready to sell the 25-year-old for less than £20 million.

However, it will be difficult that they will find a suitor who will match Sancho’s wage demands.

The same situation could arise with Marcus Rashford and Antony who are at sky-high wages but are deemed not good enough for United.
