Manchester United’s interest in Bryan Mbeumo has become public knowledge in recent weeks – and it’s easy to see why.
The Brentford forward enjoyed a standout Premier League season, finishing as the division’s fourth-highest scorer behind only Salah, Isak and Haaland.
Naturally, United have moved to secure the 25-year-old.
The hierarchy view him as a proven, high-output attacker with the physicality and intelligence to thrive at Old Trafford.

But their pursuit is proving far from straightforward, especially that Tottenham Hotspur have entered the picture following the appointment of Thomas Frank.
United, however, remain firmly in the race and are pushing ahead with talks.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, speaking on their official podcast, “Manchester United are exploring doing the Bryan Mbeumo deal and he wants to join them.
“There’s a very good chance that deal happens, but they’re not there yet.”
That update offers a significant boost to United fans, with Mbeumo’s desire to make the switch to Manchester playing into the club’s favour.
While Spurs’ interest has added a layer of complexity to the negotiations, especially with Frank’s strong relationship with the player, United still have key advantages.

Not only have talks been ongoing for weeks, but Mbeumo’s camp are said to be aligned with the vision presented by United’s recruitment team.
The club is confident that their proposal – built around regular game time, a key tactical role, and a long-term sporting project, will win out.
With a clear run now emerging and the player’s stance well established, United are hopeful of reaching an agreement that brings Mbeumo to Old Trafford before pre-season preparations begin.
Fans will be hoping the deal can quickly be wrapped up, to avoid a repeat of Liam’s Delap move to Chelsea.
