Jeremy Doku celebrates his goal and Manchester City's second in the Club World Cup match against Wydad

Manchester City got off to a winning start in the Club World Cup with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wydad AC. Phil Foden scored the fastest goal so far in the tournament as he netted in under two minutes to get the Blues on their way.

The Moroccan side did cause a few problems for a City side featuring Tijjani Riejnders and Rayan Cherki on debut, but when Jeremy Doku converted a Foden corner just before half-time it cemented the supremacy of the Premier League team. City played out the second half in control, with Rodri and Erling Haaland among the substitutes to come on as Guardiola looks to use all of his squad in the tournament.

City, who saw Rico Lewis sent off late on. next play against UAE team Al Ain before their final group game against Juventus next week. Here is how the players rated against Wydad.

Ederson: Made sure he was alert when his teammates switched off and made a couple of necessary saves. 7

Lewis: Grew into the game and relished getting forward, proving effective near the Wydad box in small spaces. Red card was ridiculous. 6

Reis: Very comfortable in possession, just about avoided being caught out off it in the first half. 7

Ake: Went close at an attacking corner and was a calming presence at the back to keep City tight enough. 7

O'Reilly: Saw attackers run in behind him with the ball on a few first-half occasions, otherwise fairly quiet. 6

Reijnders: An assured debut, confident on the ball and happy to force the issue with passes between defensive lines for runners. 7

Foden: A goal to get City going and then an assist from a corner. A promising first hour for a player with a point to prove. 8

Cherki: Took a while to get going but showed signs of building relationships with his new teammates and linked well with Doku. 6

Doku: Always willing to run at the backline, while also offering more deceleration for a better final pass or shot. A decent goal. 8

Marmoush: Lots of running, lots of shots without a lot of goal threat. Still waiting for everything to click. 6
