The star in question here is Joao Pedro of Brighton & Hove Albion. He is 23 years old and can play as both striker and attacking midfielder. He has so far scored 30 goals and picked 10 assists in 70 games for the Seagulls. Pedro is set to leave Brighton this summer and they will allow him to leave but will demand hefty fee.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have Pedro as one of their targets this summer. He added that initial talks have taken place and Pedro will be allowed to leave. Lastly, he ended by reporting that Newcastle have already approached Brighton this week.

On the other hand, Ben Jacobs has also reported about the situation. He said that Chelsea have added Pedro to their wishlist but as of now only Newcastle have been engaged in talks. He added that the Magpies are pushing right now.

As per Jacobs, Chelsea have discussed about Pedro after the arrival of Delap. They view the Brazilian as a perfect replacement for Nkunku. It will be interesting to see where the 23 year old ends up this summer. More clubs are expected to join the race soon.
