The Baltimore Ravens have continiously struggled to get over the hump in the always-competitive AFC in recent years. But perhaps the move they decided to make on Wednesday to bring in a former Pro Bowl talent could very well help them do exactly that.
It’s almost a guarantee that at some point, the Ravens will need to beat either Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes when it counts in the postseason. And to do that, having a great secondary is largely a requirement, which was not the case for the Ravens, allowing the second-most passing yards in all of football in the regular season.
On Wednesday, the Ravens sured up their secondary in a big way, signing former Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander to a one-year $6 million deal to play alongside his former college teammate, Lamar Jackson.

Alexander is looking to bounce back from two injury-riddled years in 2024 and 2023 with the Green Bay Packers, playing in just seven games in each of those seasons.
It remains to be seen what Alexander will look like outside of Green Bay. But if Alexander is able to return to the form that we saw in 2022 when he was named to a Pro Bowl after recording five interceptions, the Ravens could be looking a lot more dangerous this coming season.
