Manchester United now face increasing competition from two European clubs in the race to sign one Premier League player this summer, according to stunning reports.
Ruben Amorim is tipped to see further summer signings arrive at Old Trafford ahead of the start of the 2025-26 Premier League season for the Red Devils.
The 40-year-old Manchester United manager already received a major boost earlier this month after United completed the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
United triggered Matheus Cunha’s £62.5m release clause and the 26-year-old Brazilian attacker is Ruben Amorim’s first major signing of the summer window.
The Red Devils are expected to bring in further attacking options in the transfer window, with Amorim in desperate need of a new striker this summer.
United have been linked with several different players since the end of the 2024-25 season, including Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Bryan Mbeumo.

Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is on the transfer radar of Man Utd and the competition is heating up
Callum Hudson-Odoi has been able to put his career back on track at Nottingham Forest after he left Chelsea in 2023 and completed his move to City Ground.
Nottingham Forest landed Callum Hudson-Odoi for a fee of under £5m and the former Blues talent impressed for his current Premier League side last season.
The 24-year-old winger netted five times and secured three assists in 36 matches in all competitions, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s men finishing seventh last season.
Hudson-Odoi is out of contract at the City Ground in 2026 and Forest are keen for the former England international to commit his future to the Premier League club.
United have been linked with Hudson-Odoi amid the uncertainty around the Forest’s star future, but the Red Devils won’t have an easy time signing the player.

Man Utd could see Roma and Napoli enter the transfer race to sign Nottingham Forest star Callum Hudson-Odoi
According to The Sun, Nottingham Forest ‘have presented’ Callum Hudson-Odoi with a new deal and talks over the former Chelsea player’s future are still ‘ongoing.’
However, the newspaper added that ‘interest from clubs abroad’ has started to emerge and both Napoli and Roma could enter the race to sign Hudson-Odoi.
It is believed that it is still ‘early days’ over Hudson-Odoi’s situation and the Forest winger was ‘really happy with his season’ for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
But Hudson-Odoi suffered an injury near the end of the 2024-25 season and felt that he ‘he could have helped more’ with his side had it not been for the setback.
