Just how special are Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J Brown?
The Eagles' top receiving duo has fundamentally changed how the offense has looked. They have been key catalysts in the team reaching the Super Bowl in two of the last three years.
It's easy to say that Philadelphia's duo has carried their offense at times.
That's the argument Pro Football Focus made when they ranked the Eagles' wide receiver room as the top unit in the National Football League heading into the 2025 season.
"The Eagles earned a team 79.1 PFF receiving grade last season and boast the No. 1 (A.J. Brown) and No. 17 (DeVonta Smith) receivers in PFF's top 32 wide receiver rankings," Trevor Sikkema wrote. "Throw in Jahan Dotson as an ideal No. 3 receiver, and you've got a group that has a strong case for being the best in the league."
Let's be honest. Is Philadelphia's depth at receiver good enough for the top overall ranking?
Of course not.
The reason why the Eagles are thrown in at the top is because of Smith and Brown. Both excel when the lights are brightest and have played in some of the biggest games over the last few years.
Other teams boast deeper receiving units around the league. Teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or even the hated Dallas Cowboys have quality depth they can rely on.
Philadelphia doesn't have that in their receiver room.
What they do boast, though, is the best receiving duo in the NFL. So long as Brown and Smith stay healthy, it's a safe bet that the Eagles will remain in Super Bowl contention.
