Potential Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback target Jaire Alexander has signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens, according to multiple reports. Alexander reportedly took less money to join the Ravens with former Louisville teammate Lamar Jackson.
Alexander has missed 14 games over the last two seasons, which is a considerable impetus for this move from the Packers. They drafted Alexander in 2018, and when he is healthy, he has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
Alexander is a two-time All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler, which all set him up for sustained success. He has had 12 interceptions in his career, but the fact that he has had 14 games in the last two seasons as the injuries rack up for the former Louisville product.
Alexander had an opportunity to return to the Packers on a deal with heavy incentives that would make him a free agent in 2026. Still, he accepted his release and hit the open market instead.
For the Ravens, it answers one of their biggest questions on the roster. The Steelers could have been interested with questions about what the team would do at slot cornerback, even though they have Darius Slay and Joey Porter Jr. on the outside.
