**Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand says he would sign Victor Osimhen if he were in a position of power at this old club.**
The Napoli striker (who has scored 151 goals in his senior career) has recently turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, and Ferdinand claims he would jump at the chance of making the move to Old Trafford:
“I would go and get: Osimhen! ‘It looks like he’s turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Manchester United.”
“I don’t know if Manchester United are going to come. That’s the problem.”

The Red Devils have limited funds and they have prioritised the recruitment of Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo ahead of a new No.9.
While bringing in a striker is still on the agenda, any bid for Osimhen or Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres may have to wait until later in the summer when they have raised funds through player sales.

United are not the Nigerian’s only suitors in England. Chelsea tried to recruit him last August, but they failed to agree personal terms. He is a player who remains a subject of interest for the Blues.
Recent reports have also suggested that Liverpool are considering whether to sign Osimhen as part of a swap deal for Darwin Nunez and/or Federico Chiesa.
The striker does have a €75m (£64m) release clause in his contract but his contract expires next year and Napoli may end up selling him for below his buyout fee.
