Liverpool still has another 74 days left to do business this summer, before the window closes on September 1. But the Reds might need all of that time considering the volume of things still left to do.
Having signed Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi, Liverpool is close to completing moves for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez. It then needs to sell some players —Harvey Elliott and Darwin Nunez, perhaps — and may still have a striker signing in mind after that.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. We start with arguably the most exciting link of all, though it remains unlikely to prove possible before the window closes.
Alexander Isak (Newcastle United)
The dream number nine option in the eyes of most Liverpool fans, Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak is once again among the gossip columns. The Magpies, though, continue to insist that he isn't for sale.
According to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool hasn't given up on signing Isak this summer. The 26-year-old is under contract until 2028, however, and Newcastle finished in the Champions League places.

For that reason, Liverpool knows it would be a very difficult deal to do. It would probably have to break the British transfer record again, shortly after committing to doing so for Florian Wirtz, if the German causes all the add-ons to be paid.
Liverpool.com says: Isak would be a perfect addition to play in front of Wirtz and Mohamed Salah, but he would probably have to push pretty hard for the move. There has been no inkling of that happening so far.
Tyler Dibling (Southampton)
Liverpool is among the Premier League clubs to admire Southampton attacking midfielder Tyler Dibling, according to Caught Offside.
The player is said to be valued at around $69 million (£51 million) and could be on the move sooner rather than later. He was a rare bright spark in a dismal season for the Saints in the top flight.
Tottenham and Manchester City, the report says, are also considering swooping for Dibling. Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United, meanwhile, are also "in the race", while RB Leipzig has also been linked in the past.
Liverpool.com says: Dibling is a classy operator but he wouldn't be cheap. Liverpool probably has other priorities this summer before looking at him. Where would he play with so many options in that area of the field?
