Man United are hoping for a bidding war for wantaway winger Alejandro Garnacho this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 20-year-old is a target for Euro giants Napoli and Atletico Madrid as well as Premier League trio Chelsea, Aston Villa and Tottenham.

Sources say bidding is expected to start at around £50million in the coming days and weeks, with Garnacho expected to leave Man United before the deadline later this summer.

However, Football Insider has revealed (16 June) that his valuation and the club’s negotiating position has been dented by leaks emerging from United on the winger’s bust-up with Ruben Amorim.

Garnacho bidding expected to start at £50m

Amorim and Garnacho came to blows after the Europa League final and as a result, the Argentina international has no future at the club.

Man United were already weighing up selling the winger in January with interest from Napoli and Chelsea – and more clubs have now entered the race for his signature.

Garnacho made 58 appearances across all competitions for United in the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 11 goals and notching 10 assists.

The Red Devils have already drafted Matheus Cunha into their attack this summer and are well placed to add Bryan Mbeumo in the coming weeks.

Man United’s updated stance on Ekitike bid

Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (17 June) that Man United are unlikely to pursue a summer deal for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.

Frankfurt want close to £85million for the France Under-21 international – and the Red Devils cannot afford a deal at that price.

The Bundesliga side are not in a position where they must sell Ekitike this summer and therefore are able to hold out for that figure.
