Chelsea'hold talks'over Jamie Gittens transfer alternative as£50m summer plan emerges

Chelsea are seemingly putting several plans in place for the summer transfer window in case they don't get their number one target.

The Blues have already been heavily linked with several potential new signings this summer, with the expectation that it could be another busy window ahead.

Enzo Maresca and Co. are currently in the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup, but behind the scenes, the club will be working on deals to bring new signings to Stamford Bridge.

Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens is a target for Chelsea with football.london understanding that a fresh offer is being prepared by the Blues to try and sign the England Under-21 international.

Chelsea have already reached a verbal agreement with Gittens over a transfer this summer, but still need to agree a fee with Dortmund before a move can be finalised.

The Blues had a £42million offer rejected by the Bundesliga club earlier this month, with suggestions that Dortmund are seeking a fee in excess of £50million.

A fresh report from The Guardian has claimed that, while Gittens remains the No.1 target for Chelsea, the club are exploring a potential deal for West Ham star Mohammed Kudus.

It has been reported that Chelsea have held talks with the Hammers about the possibility of bringing Kudus to Stamford Bridge in case they fail in their attempts to sign Gittens.

Brighton star Joao Pedro has also emerged as a target for Chelsea, with the report going on to claim that the Blues have made an approach to the Seagulls about the Brazilian's future.

Chelsea will be looking to sign a new winger this summer following Jadon Sancho's exit. Tyrique George is currently performing in the left wing role for the Blues, with Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto the other wide forward options in the squad that has travelled to the United States.
