FIFA Club World Cup Highlights: City 2-0 Wydad AC

The best of the action from our deserved FIFA Club World Cup win over Wydad AC.

First half goals from Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku ensured City kickstarted our Group G campaign with a win.

Foden grabbed the opener inside two minutes in Philadelphia after Wydad goalkeeper Mehdi Benabid spilled a Savinho cross into his path.

And a second would follow on the stroke of half-time when Doku met a Foden corner at the far post, tapping home after sneaking in front of his marker.

City were full value for the victory, with a smart Ederson save to deny Cassius Mailula the only real moment of worry for the Blues.

At the other end, further goals could’ve followed from Doku with a curling effort and Erling Haaland with a late one-on-one chance, with Benabid doing well to deny both.

A late red card for Rico Lewis, which appeared harsh, ensured there was one final twist in the Philadelphia heat, but it did little to derail City’s momentum as we began with a win over Wydad AC.
