It still remains to be seen what exactly Bayern Munich will plan to do with Kingsley Coman.
As ever with transfers, the player’s wishes can heavily influence how the wind blows over their future in the game.
The French international is no exception to the rule. To that end, you could forgive supporters for expecting Coman to move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

It’s worth remembering that Bayern have yet to secure a potential successor. In fact, Max Eberl has to sell players before he can bolster Vincent Kompany’s squad.
This leaves the Bundesliga champions in a somewhat precarious position. If they cannot sell in good time, they’ll more than likely miss out on their top targets.
Can they afford to sell Kingsley Coman, for instance, without a guarantee that one of the likes of Nico Williams and Co. will replace him?
“If Nico Williams, Bradley Barcola, and Rafael Leão are not for sale, the question is whether FC Bayern can really find a better player than Kingsley Coman on the market,” Christian Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.
“Against Auckland, he was the best player in the starting XI alongside Michael Olise.
“Moreover, there are no offers for him yet. Saudi Arabia is interested, but his girlfriend doesn’t want to go there. If Coman continues to perform like this at the Club World Cup, Bayern should keep him.”
Kingsley Coman can still be important
A near-perfect display against amateur opposition in Auckland City perhaps isn’t the best example of what the attacker can still provide this side.
Of course, it won’t have escaped the notice of the Munich faithful that the Club World Cup encounter wasn’t without challenge. Harry Kane discovered this for himself in a fruitless showing in Cincinnati.
Coman, however, put in the kind of display Gianni Infantino will be praying to see on a consistent basis in the competition.
The French star registered three goal contributions (two goals, one assist) in only a half of football.
Newcastle given slim hope of completing Bundesliga transfer
We have to emphasise that Newcastle United’s chances of bringing the French international to the Premier League aren’t exactly worth betting on.
The Magpies have, according to reporting from Falk, expressed an interest in signing Coman.
However, the 29-year-old winger is understood to have made it privately clear that a move to St James’ Park this summer is not at the top of his agenda.
That said, with the forward’s partner, Sabrajna Duvad, having expressed her reluctance at a potential switch to the Middle East, it would seem the scales have shifted.
Whether they’ve shifted in favour of Eddie Howe’s Newcastle, or a prolonged relationship with FC Bayern, however, remains to be seen!
