2 sources claim club eyeing Brighton player – Seeking specific agreement with Seagulls

Real Sociedad have identified Brighton & Hove Albion’s Igor Julio as a target to replace West Ham United’s Nayef Aguerd.

West Ham let the 29-year-old Moroccan spend this season on loan with the La Liga club, who are looking to retain him. It looks like they won’t be successful and Aguerd will return to West Ham.

Following the West Ham man’s exit, Real Sociedad are looking for a centre-back. This is where the Brighton player comes into the picture and Thursday’s edition of Marca reports he’s on La Real’s agenda.

The newspaper states the 27-year-old Brazilian fits what the Spanish club are looking for in a defender and are aiming for a loan deal this summer.

Real Sociedad’s interest in the former Fiorentina man was initially reported in the English press and backed up in Spain.

Thursday’s edition of AS relays that and then states they are able to confirm that the South American is on La Real’s agenda. This step was taken after almost giving up on Aguerd.

Real Sociedad are eyeing up another loan for Aguerd while West Ham want a sale. In addition to this, there are other clubs keen on the Hammers man. This is why they have shifted their focus to Igor Julio.

According to the report, Real Sociedad are ‘seeking a loan move’ for the Brazilian. Neither newspaper makes a mention of whether the Seagulls are ready to sanction a temporary move.
