Cruzeiro’s Kaio Jorge is on Nottingham Forest’s agenda for this summer, according to a report from Brazil.
The striker left Santos to join Juventus in 2021 and returned to Brazil in June of last year when Cruzeiro signed him from the Serie A club. He managed 17 goals and four assists, of which 10 goals and two assists are from this year.
Journalist Samuel Venâncio, relayed by Bolavip Brasil, reports Nottingham Forest are looking at the 23-year-old.
He explains that Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have made an approach to the Brazilian club to ‘signal their interest in paying’ €15m for the player.
Jorge has a contract until December 2028 and Transfermarkt currently value him at €7m. Despite this, Venâncio reports the Cruzeiro management have no intention of negotiating with the Premier League club for €15m.
Central da Toca e Samuca TV back up this claim and provide an additional update on the Brazilian club’s stance. They report Cruzeiro want €30m to start negotiations for Jorge’s sale this summer.
Nottingham Forest are set to sign Botafogo’s Igor Jesus for around €20m after the Club World Cup. He mainly operates as a No.9 but can also be used across other attacking positions.
With Jesus’ impending arrival, it may not make sense for the English club to invest €30m on Jorge, but €15m would look like a squad addition.
