Darwin Nunez’s future at Liverpool is hanging in the balance.
While Napoli have been linked with the South American, it still seems as if they are considering whether to move for him or pursue other targets.
Corriere dello Sport relay this information today and report that Napoli are trying hard to satisfy manager Antonio Conte’s request to improve his team’s attack this summer.
Nunez is clearly liked and is at the ‘top of Conte’s wish-list’ but Liverpool’s demands are expected to make a transfer complex. The striker’s wage demands are also proving to be a problem for the Italian champions, despite the opposite being previously reported.
As a result, they are progressing in a move for Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca. The player has agreed to join Conte’s side and talks between the two clubs are at an advanced stage.
If Napoli end up making progress in negotiations with Udinese, a deal will be done and Liverpool will be left looking around for more destinations for Nunez.
The player has already rejected approaches from the Middle East in the hope of staying in Europe, with AC Milan also spoken of as a potential suitor in recent days.
