While Wirtz is reportedly set to earn £200,000-per-week at Anfield, he won't be the only one who gets a whole lot richer because of the move. According to German media outlet BILD, his parents are set to pocket £8.6m following his transfer to Merseyside. This is because the attacking midfielder's mother and father act as his agent and it was they who represented him in his move to Liverpool.
It's not common for a top footballer to be represented by their parents, but it's a partnership that is clearly paying off so far and will see couple make close to £9m. This comes after Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen agreed to a deal that will see the Reds pay £100m up front for Wirtz, before potentially paying a further £16m in add-ons down the line.
The move will be the most expensive in Liverpool history, but if Wirtz is half the play for Slot that he has been for Leverkusen, it will be an incredible deal.
