Manchester United have agreed a new one-year contract with veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton to extend his Old Trafford stay until June 2026, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The Red Devils are set to make an official announcement soon regarding the 'fantastic' 39-year-old shot-stopper’s new deal, after Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff approved Heaton’s extension for another season.
The three-cap former England international, who joined United on a free transfer from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021, has made three appearances for the Red Devils since.
He last featured in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Nottingham Forest in February 2023, helping United clinch a 2-0 victory.

Romano, writing on X, has revealed that Man United are soon going to make an official announcement on Heaton staying for another season at Old Trafford:
Man United are set to retain only one of their four out-of-contract veterans, having announced the departures of Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans earlier this month.
The Red Devils are seeking to rejuvenate Amorim’s squad following their worst-ever Premier League season, where they finished 15th, 17 points above the bottom three.
United have already confirmed the arrival of 25-year-old forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are working to secure another attacker, with talks for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo now at an advanced stage.
The Cameroonian ace is believed to be prioritising a summer move to Old Trafford, despite interest from Tottenham and his former coach Thomas Frank.
