Marcus Rashford is keen to skip Manchester United's summer tour of America as he bids to secure a move away from Old Trafford. The Red Devils are set to jet off to the United States next month as part of their pre-season preparations under manager Ruben Amorim.
However, Rashford is said to be eager to stay behind in England if he hasn't finalised his departure from the club by then, and will inform the club hierarchy of his intentions. It is believed that Amorim would not object to Rashford's absence from the touring party. Despite interest from Newcastle United, who are prepared to splash out £40million for his services, Rashford is expected to reject any advances from the Magpies.
Instead, the 27-year-old forward has his sights set on a dream move to Barcelona, even if it means accepting a reduced salary.
Barcelona have also been linked with moves for Neco Williams and Luis Diaz, but Rashford remains hopeful of striking a deal with the reigning La Liga champions.
Rashford's primary goal is to secure a spot in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the World Cup, and he believes playing at the highest level will boost his chances.
In other news, Napoli are leading the race to sign Jadon Sancho, another player looking to exit Manchester United.
Sancho spent last season on loan at Chelsea and is now seeking a permanent move away from Old Trafford. While several Saudi Arabian clubs have expressed an interest in the winger, Sancho's preference is to continue his career in Europe.
