Kansas City Chiefs QB

His numbers have not been as gaudy the past few seasons, but he is still the best in the league. With an improved offensive line, and better receivers, his numbers will go up this year. (Last season: No. 1)

NFL All Quarter Century team: Best 53-man roster, coaches | ESPN

Running backs (3)

Priest Holmes

Teams: Ravens (1997-2000), Chiefs (2001-07)

Résumé since 2000: 9,256 all-purpose yards, 85 all-purpose TDs, one-time Super Bowl champion, one-time OPOY, three-time All-Pro

Yes, Holmes is our RB1 over anyone else. Think back to the turn of the century, when Holmes emerged from the Baltimore bench to drive the powerful offense of the Dick Vermeil Chiefs, using a dynamic combination of rushing and receiving skills.

Other running backs might have had longer peaks, but none of them can match the three-year period that Holmes had from 2001 to 2003. In the advanced DYAR metrics for total value, these seasons rank 15th, second and third among all running back seasons since 1978, respectively. — Schatz

2025 NFL running back unit rankings: Derrick Henry spearheads Ravens’ top-ranked group | PFF

24.Kansas City Chiefs

Isiah Pacheco’s injury stunted the Chiefs’ ability to create explosive plays on the ground last season. The team’s 9.2% explosive run rate ranked second worst in the NFL last season. Pacheco will be hoping to bounce back from a career-low 65.2 PFF rushing grade.

Kareem Hunt proved he is still durable and posted a solid 74.9 PFF rushing grade, but he did not have a single carry gain more than 20 yards. Carson Steele projects as another short-yardage option, while the team will hope seventh-round rookie Brashard Smith can provide a spark in the passing game.

A.J. Hawk just said something about Travis Kelce that Chiefs fans need to hear | Arrowhead Addict

In a chat with his friend and host Pat McAfee, Hawk recently talked about the “reignited fire” he sees in Kelce.

“I feel like Travis Kelce, [who is] obviously an old-school guy, I think this is the only good thing that comes from losing,” said Hawk. “It can absolutely reignite a fire. It can do something to spark something that you want to get back to where you were when you’ve won multiple Super Bowls.

“What do you want to do? You want to continue to win more,” he continued. “You want to win every single year. I think they’re getting hungrier and hungrier.”

Jaire Alexander, Ravens Agree to Contract After Packers Release, Lamar Jackson Remarks | Bleacher Report

Alexander’s change of scenery this offseason felt inevitable. The veteran cornerback appeared in only 14 total games over the past two seasons due to a series of injuries and a one-game suspension. With no remaining guaranteed money left on his contract, he was a prime candidate to be either traded or released.

In February, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported that the Packers were willing to listen to trade offers for Alexander and that “there have been strong indications since late last season that Alexander’s time in Green Bay could be over. Multiple team sources have privately expressed their frustration with Alexander’s inability to stay healthy and/or play through injuries.”

Alexander didn’t sound like he was keen to return to the Packers after the 2024 season ended, either. He refused to speak to reporters because he had “nothing good to say” and didn’t know if he would return to the team in 2025.

Richard Sherman charged with DUI stemming from 2024 arrest | ESPN

The gross misdemeanor charge was filed one day after the KCPAO received the blood-test results from the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab that were taken the night of the arrest. Sherman registered a blood alcohol level of around 0.11, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08.

He’s scheduled to be arraigned June 30.

Shortly before 2 a.m. on Feb. 24, 2024, Sherman was pulled over after a Washington State Patrol officer allegedly clocked his Tesla traveling 79 mph in a 60 mph zone and veering in its lane on Interstate 405 in Renton, about 12 miles east of Seattle.

Chiefs News: Hollywood Brown now in the best group of pass-catchers

“I was coming back, really, just trying to help whichever way I could,” the wideout said of last season’s return, speaking after Tuesday’s mandatory minicamp practice. “That was my mindset. That helped carry me through the end of last year. So I was just really grateful that I even had the opportunity to come back.”

Since his first season in Kansas City brought frustration for both himself and the team, returning was far from a certainty. But in early March, Brown signed another one-year contract with the Chiefs. He’s spent the offseason continuing to get back into football shape.

“There’s a lot of training, really,” he explained. “Last year was a good transition back into football, but now — being able to train and build my body the way I want to — I’ve been enjoying the process.”

Brown is also looking forward to being part of an offense featuring Rashee Rice — another wide receiver returning from injury — along with second-year speedster Xavier Worthy seeking to build on a strong rookie season and a slimmed-down version of tight end Travis Kelce.

“Best [group] I’ve been a part of, for sure,” he said of Kansas City’s pass-catchers. “We compete like no other. We push each other — and you know we’re excited for the season.”

Add it to the Bulletin Board.. @PriscoCBS has Travis Kelce as #96 in his top 100 players behind Sam LaPorta and Trey McBride.

Is it at all possible that his YPC went down because most of the other weapons were injured and he was being double and triple teamed? pic.twitter.com/Ya4cDXviqq
