Former NBA star arrested for violence against woman

Former NBA guard Eric Bledsoe was arrested in California for felony domestic violence after allegedly striking a woman in the face at a gas station.

Former NBA guard Eric Bledsoe was reportedly arrested early Wednesday morning on serious domestic violence charges. According to TMZ Sports, the 35-year-old was taken into custody by California police after allegedly striking a woman in the face.

The incident occurred around 2:30 AM local time, after authorities responded to a call at a gas station off the highway. When officers arrived, they found Bledsoe and a woman who allegedly showed visible injuries, including bruising and swelling on her face.

Police say the woman told them Bledsoe had hit her. Bledsoe reportedly refused to provide a statement about the incident and was placed under arrest.

He is now facing a felony domestic violence charge and was held on $50,000 bail.

This is not Bledsoe's first run-in with the law. In 2022, he was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge, though that case was later dropped due to "inconsistent statements" from the alleged victim about whether a physical altercation had occurred.

Bledsoe last appeared in the NBA in 2022 with the Los Angeles Clippers. Since then, he has continued his basketball career overseas with the Shanghai Sharks in China.

Over his 12-year NBA career, Bledsoe averaged 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.
