Rightly selected.
So BSPN came out with its All-21st Century First 25 Years team yesterday. There are several former Bucs represented. Interestingly, just two who were drafted by the Bucs.
In total, the Bucs had six former players and one current player [on this list](https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45042048/nfl-best-all-quarter-century-team-25-years-tom-brady-randy-moss-ray-lewis). The players who played for the Bucs but were not drafted by the Bucs are Tom Brady, Julio Jones, foot-rubbing Rob Gronkowski, Darrelle Revis and Richard Sherman.
One of the players who was drafted by the Bucs who made the team is Ronde Barber. The one current Bucs player who made the team is Lavonte David.
The player that Joe finds outrageous who was not on the team is Derrick Brooks. Brooks played 9 of his 14 years in the 21st century. He was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2002. Won a Super Bowl the same season.
Brooks was even named to the NFL’s All-Time 100 list, which picked the best players in NFL history, selected by a blue ribbon panel.
And the four-letter selects Luke Kuechly over Brooks? What an outrage!
(The four-letter named Brooks to its “practice squad.” _Pppfffttt!_)
Look, Joe likes Kuechly, but there isn’t a sober football person who would ever choose Kuechly over Brooks. No friggin’ way. That’s actually insulting.
And no, Keuchly was not named to the NFL’s All-Time 100 list.
No, Jones and Sherman were not even close to their former selves where they played dominant football by the time they came to the Bucs. But they are listed as former Bucs.
And we all know Revis was recovering from knee surgery when he came to the Bucs before lousy Lovie Smith ran him off. Joe has never seen a veteran NFL guy who was as clueless in player evaluation as that moron.
It’s cool that David got in. No-brainer on Barber. But Kuechly over Brooks? BSPN would be wise to rethink this before it is too late.
