“One of best clubs in world” – Swedish attacking midfielder asked about Manchester City interest

Swedish youngster Love Arrhov has admitted he had interest from Manchester City but elected to join Eintracht Frankfurt instead.

The [17-year-old has been speaking to Fotboll Skanalen](https://www.fotbollskanalen.se/allsvenskan/arrhov-om-dragkampen-mellan-frankfurt-och-city-stort/) about his future, which currently lies in Germany.

The Swedish youngster is set to join the Bundesliga side in January next year after they wrapped up a €4.6m deal with Brommapojkarna earlier this year.

He’ll be the latest Swedish youngster to make the move to Europe’s big leagues early, with it fast becoming a growing trend.

The decision to join Frankfurt was certainly an interesting one, with plenty of competition sat at the table and asking about the youngster.

Manchester City were one of them, with their extensive scouting network picking up on him and trying to make him the latest young talent added to their swelling ranks. He now admits that they showed interest in him.

“Yes, they followed me. I found out about that a little before I found out about Eintracht,” he said.

“Of course it was very big, one of the best clubs in the world. But I still didn’t feel any pressure. I’ve always felt safe at BP. But of course, it was very nice to hear that City showed interest.”

He’s instead decided to go to Eintracht, who have proven to be a breeding ground for talent over the last few years.

The likes of Omar Marmoush, Hugo Ekitike, William Pacho and even compatriot Hugo Larsson have all flourished since signing for the club in relatively low-cost deals. Marmoush and Pacho have already secured big moves away, while Ekitike is in line for one this summer.

And Arrhov believes he’s picked the best club to develop at as a result, with the feeling that Manchester City prefer to sign big stars.

“But I’m very convinced that Eintracht is the right step. It’s a club that takes care of young people. We have a good plan,” he added.

“That was a very big factor in why the choice fell on Eintracht,” he then answered when asked if Frankfurt’s youth development was key.
