Liverpool are reportedly close to signing 16-year-old Senegalese winger Sidy Barhama Ndiaye for a fee of €1 million.

This is according to French journalist Nabil Djellit, who posted on X: “The Senegalese winger (2009) will leave the Diambars academy to (normally) engage with #Liverpool. The transfer is estimated at €1M. Things are working well in Senegal. Bravo”.

The youngster represented Senegal’s U17 team at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, where he reportedly caught the eyes of Liverpool scouts. He started all four of Senegal’s matches at the tournament before they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Ivory Coast in a penalty shootout.

Ndiaye currently plays for Diambars FC’s U17 side in his home country.

Should the move happen this transfer window, it is expected that Ndiaye would join Liverpool’s academy to further develop his skills.

In moving to Liverpool, Ndiaye would draw comparisons to Sadio Mané, who captained Senegal and spent six seasons at the club, winning a Premier League title as well as a UEFA Champions League whilst playing down the wing.
