Marcus Rashford wants to miss Manchester United's summer tour of America in favour of finding himself a new club.

Ruben Amorim's squad are due to travel America next month to ramp up their pre-season preparations. But Rashford is desperate to avoid going if he has not secured an exit from Old Trafford, and will tell club bosses he wants to remain in England to resolve his future.

It's understood Amorim would not have a problem with Rashford not being part of the group. Rashford, meanwhile, is expected to snub any approach from Newcastle in favour of holding out for a move to Barcelona.

Reports claim Newcastle are keen to sign Rashford this summer in a £40m deal, but Rashford has set his heart on a move to Barca instead, and is willing to take a wage cut in order to secure a switch to the Spanish champions.

Barca have also targeted Nico Williams and Luis Diaz, but Rashford remains confident he can strike a financial deal with the La Liga champions.

The 27-year-old is desperate to be included in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the World Cup, and wants to be playing at the highest level possible.

Meanwhile, Napoli have emerged as front runners to sign United outcast Jadon Sancho, who is also looking for an escape route from Old Trafford, having spent last season on-loan at Chelsea.

A number of Saudi clubs are interested in Sancho, but the winger would prefer to remain in Europe. Sancho looked set to be joining the Blues at the end of his loan deal, with Chelsea having an obligation to buy of £25million.

However, they were forced to pay £5m to United as Sancho returned to Old Trafford with his tail between his legs after failing to agree terms on a permanent move.

The 25-year-old has just one year left on his mega £300,000-per-week contract, making United's task of jettisoning the winger for good this summer even tougher.
