Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has given his verdict on free agent and former teammate Paul Pogba as the midfielder continues his hunt for a new club.
The Frenchman has been without a club since December after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Juventus. In March, Pogba's 18-month suspension after testing positive for a banned substance was lifted.
But while he is now available to play professionally again, he has yet to be snapped up. Pogba has been spending plenty of time in Miami recently, including watching Sir David Beckham's Inter Miami in the MLS, leading to speculation that he could be joining them, while French side Monaco have reportedly offered him a two-year deal.
Pogba remains in the Florida city this summer and took to Instagram to share photos from a recent training session conducted in the US. During that session, Pogba was seen wearing a Boca Juniors shirt accompanied with the caption: "Stay ready," perhaps hinting that he has yet to find a suitor for his services.
While Boca could be a destination for Pogba, he is likely to only be wearing the jersey, imprinted with Marcos Rojo's name and number, because he reunited with the centre-back and other former United teammates, Sergio Romero, Edinson Cavani and Ander Herrera at the Club World Cup this week. The quartet all currently represent the Argentine giants and were in Miami this week for their opening clash of the FIFA tournament against Benfica.
Among those to comment on Pogba's latest Instagram post was Rashford who sent a clear verdict on the Frenchman. "Playerrrrr," the forward wrote accompanied by a fire emoji.
Rashford and Pogba were also teammates at Old Trafford and, like the Frenchman, the winger is expected to be departing United this summer. The 27-year-old spent the second half of this past season on loan at Aston Villa after being dropped from Ruben Amorim's team after a conflict surrounding his training performances.
A move to Barcelona is seen as Rashford's preferred location but reports on Thursday morning suggest that Newcastle could also be a potential transfer for the forward.
