Belief €30m+ will be enough to sign Liverpool player this summer

Bayer Leverkusen believe that €30m will be enough to sign Jarrel Quansah from Liverpool this summer.

That’s according to Kicker, who report the German side are keen on the Liverpool youngster and think that there is a deal there to be done.

They need to find a long-term replacement for Jonathan Tah, who has joined Bayer Munich, and have identified the Liverpool defender as one of two options to look at. Malick Thiaw at AC Milan is the other.

The belief is that he can offer a certain amount of quality now and develop in the future given he is only 22 years old. Talks with Liverpool about him are ongoing.

The English media has suggested a €45m price tag but Leverkusen would never pay that. Instead, they believe €30m upwards will be enough to get him. That would be a new club record for the Germans for a defender. The current record in €23m for Odilon Kossounou in July 2021.

It’s a deal to be worked on but there is a belief Liverpool will sell for the right price. That’s why Leverkusen are pushing talks along, something they haven’t done with Thiaw as yet.
