“The player will leave Liverpool”–6 clubs suddenly move into picture in flash news from journalist

Federico Chiesa is destined to leave Liverpool this summer, and six clubs have moved into the picture for him.

That’s according to journalist Valter De Maggio, who provides an update on the Liverpool forward [via Area Napoli today.](https://www.areanapoli.it/interviste/de-maggio-chiesa-napoli-mi-e-arrivata-una-notizia-pochi-minuti-fa_597048.html)

Chiesa is expected to leave Liverpool this summer after a miserable first year at Anfield in which he barely featured under Arne Slot following a relatively cheap summer move from Juventus.

Several Italian sides are keen on him, including Napoli, who are busy strengthening for Antonio Conte ahead of a title defence next season. They’ve been linked for weeks, with numerous reports indicating that they were pushing forward with plans to get the 27-year-old.

De Maggio, though, reports that the Liverpool man has as many as six Italian clubs sat at the table and eyeing him up.

_“I have some news for you that arrived just a few minutes ago. Napoli is monitoring the situation of Federico Chiesa, both coach Antonio Conte and President Aurelio De Laurentiis like the player a lot,”_ he told Radio Goal on Kiss Kiss.

_“Napoli will try to buy Federico Chiesa, but there are also other clubs interested in the winger. The player will leave Liverpool, there are six clubs that want him including Inter and Milan, along with Napoli.”_

It seems, then, that a deal might not be as easy for Napoli to get over the line as they might have expected.

That’ll suit Liverpool, of course, who will likely be rubbing their hands together at a potential bidding war for Chiesa taking place this summer and, crucially, ramping up his asking price.
