Ranking all Premier League clubs by transfer net spend in 2025: Liverpool six places behind Man …

Premier League clubs have made a lot of transfer dealings in the last few months – but which team has spent the most and who has made a profit?

The 20 Premier League clubs spent a combined €500million in the January transfer window, although one side was responsible for nearly half of that total.

The first transfer window of the summer between 1-10 June saw around €450million spent by the top-flight clubs and the second window is now open.

We’ve ranked the 20 current Premier League clubs by their transfer net spend in 2025. Note: The list also stipulates deals on an initial fee basis, not those with add-ons taken into account.

20. Aston Villa – €67.17m profit

Most expensive signing of 2025: Donyell Malen (€25m)

Biggest sale of 2025: Jhon Duran (€77m)

Villa eased their PSR concerns in the January transfer window by selling Duran to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr in a deal worth €77million plus add-ons.

They have spent some of that money, buying Malen from Borussia Dortmund, Andres Garcia from Levante and Yasin Ozcan from Kasimpasa.

Unai Emery’s side are also looking to sign Marco Asensio after his impressive loan spell, although a permanent move for Marcus Rashford looks unlikely.

19. Wolves – €64.7m profit

Most expensive signing of 2025: Emmanuel Agbadou (€20m)

Biggest sale of 2025: Matheus Cunha (€74.2m)

18. Bournemouth – €45.5m profit

Most expensive signing of 2025: Adrien Truffert (€13.5m)

Biggest sale of 2025: Dean Huijsen (€62.5m)

Bournemouth’s strong performance in 2024/25 has led to significant interest in their key players and Huijsen has already completed a €62.5million move to Real Madrid.

Milos Kerkez is expected to join Liverpool in a deal worth a reported €49.9million and Illia Zabarnyi has reportedly agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain.

What a season.

A journey to remember.

But Tom Watson – who scored the winning goal in the Championship play-off final – has since completed a €12million move to Brighton.

Jobe Bellingham has also left the Stadium of Light and is now playing for Borussia Dortmund, following in the footsteps of his older brother.

The Reds replaced the England international by triggering the €40million release clause in Frimpong’s Bayer Leverkusen contract.

While Liverpool are currently in a mid-table position, they will rise up this list when they sign Milos Kerkez for €49.9million and Florian Wirtz for an initial €117million.

They have since added Cunha to their squad by triggering the €74.2million release clause in his Wolves contract, making him the seventh-most expensive signing in the club’s history.

Biggest sale of 2025: Yan Couto (€25m)

After making just two first-team signings last summer, Manchester City made significant moves in the January transfer window in an attempt to boost their ailing campaign.

They agreed to sign Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth an initial €75million and another €5million in add-ons.

City also bolstered their defensive options with three new centre-backs, signing Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Juma Bah for a combined €83million.

They finished off the January transfer window by triggering the €60million release clause in Nico Gonzalez’s contract at Porto, taking their overall spend to €218million.

It was the second-biggest spend in the mid-season window by a Premier League club, behind Chelsea’s €329.5million splurge in January 2023.

Pep Guardiola’s side have continued their rebuild in the summer transfer window, spending another €130.7million on four more players.
