Everton’s hierarchy are busily preparing for their new era away from Goodison Park.
The Friedkin Group are working on improving both the backroom staff and the squad to ensure the move is a success, although no players have been signed this summer.
They are desperate to make their mark on the Merseyside club and are hoping to incentivise the Toffees to create an electric atmosphere at the Hill Dicksonson Stadium.
However, recent developments with the Liverpool City Council have put a sour taste in their mouths and could threaten to aggravate their move.

Rail services to cause issues for Everton’s first home game
The Everton faithful are confident that David Moyes, who previously managed the Blues for over a decade, is at the helm to guide the club into the new era.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
Excitement would have built when Everton’s first fixture of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign was confirmed on Wednesday (18 June), with the Merseyside club set to host Brighton and Hove Albion on the opening weekend.
However, their mood would have instantly dampened as, according to the Liverpool Echo (18 June), no extra train services will be available to assist with the added demand from International Beatleweek.
The two events will put a strain on the public transport system, with Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram explaining that the infrastructure means they “can’t squeeze any more trains on a congested network.”
This has led to widespread criticism of the council, who should be ashamed by their lack of planning, with Paul Quinn, known as The Esk, denouncing the authorities on X (19 June).
He posted, “This is outrageous and another example of our City’s failure to have infrastructure and capital investment plans to meet the needs of growing opportunities.
Time to take the gloves off and say it as it is. Totally unacceptable.”
The BBC reported later that day (19 June) that there would be extra train capacity in the form of extra carriages.
This was still not enough to satisfy the Esk, who returned to X to comment, “The BBC has a different spin on the story. Still totally unacceptable even the BBC’s version.”
Moyes’ experience will ensure focus remains on the team
Off-field issues and potential hiccups outside of Moyes’ remit will not derail the experienced Scotsman from the task at hand.
His focus will purely be on the footballing side, starting with addressing incomings to a squad that are in dire need of additional numbers and quality.
Moyes will ensure to instill a hard work ethic and positive mindset typical of his image to take into their opening fixture to ensure the Everton faithful are behind his team.
