Manchester City have paid the Premier League £1million in fines after breaching one of its rules nine times last season. Sanctions for the breaches of Premier League rule L.33 total £1.08million and follow a previous fine last offseason that reached £2.09m.

City have again accepted and apologised for the breaches, after which the club have also confirmed they have reminded their players and staff of their responsibilities in complying with the rule related to kick-off and re-start obligations for a second successive summer.

Rule L.33, in part, reads: "Any Club which, without good reason, causes to be delayed either the kick-off of a League Match from the time fixed or the re-start after the half-time interval shall be dealt with."
