Here are details for Giants’ joint training camp practices with Jets

The NFL on Wednesday announced details for all of its joint training camp practices.

The Giants will have two of them, both against the Jets. The Giants will travel to the Jets’ training facility in Florham Park on Aug. 12, and the Jets will return the favor in East Rutherford on Aug. 13.

The teams will meet in Week 2 of the preseason on Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. at MetLife Stadium. That’s a Saturday night. So the practices will be Tuesday and Wednesday of that week.

Before Wednesday, it was already known that the Giants and Jets would hold two joint practices this year — one at each team’s facility. But the dates were unclear.

In 2022, Giants coach Brian Daboll’s first season in East Rutherford, the teams held a joint practice for the first time since 2005, when fights marred the practice action.

There were no Giants-Jets joint practices in 2023. But they resumed joint practices in 2024, with the Jets hosting one. The Giants hosted one in 2022. This year, they’ll go with a home-and-home format.

The two teams planned to practice against each other in 2023, but scheduling conflicts led to them canceling the session, which likely would’ve been in Florham Park, a month before the start of camp.

The Giants are entering Year 4 under Daboll, who is very much on the hot seat. The Jets are heading into their first season under Aaron Glenn. He replaces Robert Saleh, who was fired after last season’s 2-3 start.

The Jets were a 5-12 debacle last year. The Giants were somehow even worse, at 3-14.

The Giants on Wednesday wrapped up their two-day minicamp. So they, like the Jets, are now off until training camp starts in late July.

Giants rookies will report to camp July 15, with veterans arriving a week later. Jets veterans also will report on July 22, but their rookies will report July 19.
