Real Madrid begin 'official' talks that could seriously affect Kyle Walker's future - journalist

The future of Manchester City star Kyle Walker is up in the air.

After eight very successful years at the Manchester club, Walker is set to leave Man City this summer after the right-back already jumped ship in January by joining AC Milan on loan while his parent club continued to struggle.

This did not go down well with Pep Guardiola, and Man City are now considering loan proposals for Walker ahead of the new season, just to get the 35-year-old off their books.

There have not been many clubs interested in the Englishman in recent weeks; however, Fenerbahce are one of them, and the latest transfer news out of Turkey could seriously affect the future of Walker.

Fenerbahce begin talks for Real Madrid star Lucas Vázquez

It was reported last week that Fenerbahce have made an offer to Man City for Walker, with the Englishman open to a move to Turkey, where he would like a two-year contract.

There has been no concrete update on that deal since, and Jose Mourinho seems keen to add a new right-back to his squad as soon as possible; therefore, Fenerbahce have started official talks with Real Madrid for Lucas Vázquez, reports Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

Vazquez is a natural winger, but has been used as a right-back for many years at Real Madrid and being a younger, more attacking player, that likely appeals to Fenerbahce.

It remains to be seen how the deal progresses from here, but either way, this will affect Walker’s future as it shows that the Turkish club are already looking at other options.

Other clubs interested in Man City’s Kyle Walker

Man City would ideally like to permanently offload Walker this summer and get a transfer fee, but the fact that they are open to a loan deal shows how hard the 35-year-old will be to move on this summer.

Everton are one club keen on signing Walker ahead of the new Premier League season getting underway in August; however, David Moyes does not view the Man City star as a priority at present.

With the Toffees uncertain about making a move for Walker and Fenerbahce in talks for Vazquez, the Man City legend’s career is currently in limbo.

More clubs could enter the race over the coming weeks, as it remains to be seen where the 35-year-old will be playing his football next season.
