Séamus Coleman’s bond with Everton looks set to continue as the Toffees legend approaches retirement.
Coleman joined Everton from League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers in 2009 and has gone on to make over 400 appearances for the Blues.
The right-back’s work ethic and consistency over the years have earned him a legendary status among Everton fans, who view Coleman as the embodiment of the club’s values.
The Republic of Ireland international was made club captain in 2019 and has an excellent relationship with David Moyes, who first brought him to Merseyside.
However, with his 37th birthday approaching this autumn, Coleman could be offered a new role at Everton.

Coleman’s service to Everton could be rewarded with coaching job
Moyes will be keen to keep hold of his long-term ally and most senior voice within the dressing room as Everton prepare for a new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
However, injuries have plagued Coleman in recent years and limited the defender to just five Premier League appearances last season.

Coleman’s statistics for Everton in the last three Premier League campaigns
While he has retained his competitive spirit, his performances have lacked the same physical presence that is synonymous with his game.
Coleman’s contract is due to expire at the end of June, and with Kyle Walker linked with a move to Everton, it could spell the end of the skipper’s playing career with the Toffees.
However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has suggested that Coleman is set to join the first-team coaching staff at Everton.
“Coleman has had problems with injuries in recent years,” King said.
“However, he has proven to be a very good servant to Everton, and the word is that he will move on to the first-team coaching staff.”

Coleman is the best value buy in Everton’s history
Everton’s transfers have come under intense scrutiny over the last decade, leaving the club devoid of funds and in huge debt.
A period of overspending on high-profile players in the late 2010’s crippled the club financially, with the £25million spent on signing Jordan Pickford arguably offering the best return.
This is incomparable to Coleman, who was brought in for just £60,000, and whose rise to becoming the captain of the club and one of the best right-backs in the league for several years must go down as the club’s best value buy in the modern era.
