Liverpool do hold an interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to The Times reporter Paul Joyce.
The trusted journalist claims that the England international is “liked” by the Reds hierarchy and an approach could be made depending on the “circumstances around [Jarell] Quansah, and others”.
Bayer Leverkusen are hoping to sign Quansah but there are doubts over whether the Bundesliga side are prepared to match Liverpool’s asking price, which stands at £40m.

The Merseysiders will not press the centre-back into leaving but they will accept an offer that matches their valuation if the player signals he wants to move to get more game time.
What is the situation with Guehi?
The 24-year-old is closing in on the final twelve months of his contract at Selhurst Park and he is not expected to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Guehi may be targeted as a replacement for Quansah this summer or if Ibrahima Konate leaves within the next twelve months.
Like Guehi, the Frenchman’s contract expires in 2026 and he is attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid.
There will be competition for the Liverpool target
Chelsea are believed to have a longstanding interest in Guehi, having sold the centre-half to Palace for £18m in the summer of 2021.
Over the past few weeks, the player has also been linked with Arsenal, although it remains to be seen if he would be open to joining the Gunners, considering he could play second fiddle to both William Saliba and Gabriel.
Newcastle made a concerted effort to buy Guehi last year. The Magpies remain keen on the defender and they may be tempted to make a move now he is available for a lower price.
