Chelsea star wanted desperately by Real Madrid

One Chelsea star is desperately wanted by Real Madrid. The player has been superb for the Blues in 2024/25 season. But, there are still doubts about his future at Stamford Bridge.

The star in question here is Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea signed him for £107 million from Benfica in January 2023. They were forced to spend that amount due to the player’s superb form in World Cup 2022 for Argentine. It was a British club record back then.

Fernandez has been superb for Chelsea since arrival of Enzo Maresca. He has played as all attacking, central and holding midfielder for the Italian boss. The Argentine scored 9 goals and picked 14 assists in 47 games for the Blues in 2024/25 season.

Fernandez has interest from multiple clubs across whole Europe. One club who has made him their top priority is Real Madrid. Los Blancos are looking for long term replacement of Toni Kross. In addition, they will lose Luka Modric this summer due to which midfielder has became a top priority.

Chelsea to sell Enzo Fernandez?

Fernandez is playing a big role for Chelsea at the moment. In addition, he is only 24 years old. Hence, it will not make any sense to part ways with him just yet. But, Simon Phillips has reported that Real Madrid keep calling him and this may result in him leaving the Blues.

Fernandez can be tempted to play for Real Madrid. But, as of now he is very happy at West London. Phillips added that the decision will also depend on what Chelsea think. The Blues are happy with him at the moment but the 24 year old is not fully indispensable.

Chelsea can bag a hefty profit on Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine can be replaced despite it being difficult. The Blues have Moises Caicedo who is on top of his form. In addition, Andrey Santos has now joined the club. Lastly, Romeo Lavia can make them very strong if he manages to stay injury free.
